One of the most difficult challenges of being a parent is when the little one is sick. I had planned to have a selfish all me day today as I am off work. My plans were to leave the little guy at the daycare and go antiquing with my husband. But alas, the little guy awakened at 5:30 a.m. with a 101 degree fever and vomiting. It fell to me to take him to the doctor and now I am trying to convince him he needs something to eat and/or drink. No luck with that either. I wish I could make him comfortable if not well. The picture is of the doctor's office. We only waited 1.5 hours to be seen for 2.5 minutes. Never understand how doctors get so far behind when they don't spend any time at all with their patients. Yet another mystery to solve.

Hate when little ones are sick! Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteI have had that happen, too. Plan a day off, and it blows up in my face.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE someone to explain the doctor's office to me. Whenever I go to see the dentist, I get called back BEFORE my appointment officially starts. I am ALWAYS called back a 1/2 hour AFTER my appointment at the OB. Yes, we have to wait at the pediatricians, too.
Our peds office overbooks... two or three appointments at the same time for the same doctor... the doc only spends 2 or 3 minutes in the room with us, but then has to go back to desk and write/dictate notes, write scrips... etc. Add to that all of the interuptions of calls from hospital, lab, reading xrays and those pesky drug salesmen that pop in... that is how the doc gets behind... not fair in my position.
ReplyDeleteSilver lining... at least you did not have to take off to care for little one as you were already off.
I agree totally with your sentiments about doctors waiting times! Hope your son gets well soon.
