Hard to believe but this native shrub will be flowering in just a few weeks, sooner if the weather remains warm. This is a native honeysuckle shrub. I am not certain of its range but it flowers in late January through February here in Arkansas. The flowers closely resemble those of the Japenese honeysuckle and exude a terrific odor that reminds me of the promise of warmer weather and green plants and flowers.
