February 2, 2010: Groundhog Day

February 2, 2010: Groundhog Day

I have never understood this celebration/tradition because if I look at my calendar it is always 6 more weeks until spring and really 6 weeks isn't that long a time.

Though this year I think I have come to the realization that if I had to live with all the white stuff in the photo to the left and deal with the temperatures that go with it. I would be looking for something, anything to indicate that spring is "around the corner." But alas, that is probably wishful thinking as the "Farmer's Almanac" indicates more snow and cold for us during the month of February.
