I have a large collection of Westmoreland Old Quilt pattern milk glass with a few pieces of Blue Willow blue & white glassware mixed in. My first pieces were purchased at an antique store in Little Rock, AR on a trip with my aunts. I don't find many pieces that I don't have anymore but on occasion they show up. I get very excited when that happens, but of course they have to fit my budget and be in mint condition. They are gorgeous pieces of history.

Very pretty collections. Isn't if fun to have collections like this to add to from time to time? I wish I had more room to display dishes. My favorite to look for is Fiesta Ware. They have some really unique pieces but the prices are always out of my budget but it's still fun to look.
ReplyDeleteI agree about Fiesta Ware. Did you know that the yellow, orange and red colors of the old stuff contain Uranium in the paint and will set off a Geiger Counter?
ReplyDeleteI knew there were reports of something unsafe in them but never did the research. I used them for everyday dishes for several years but once they started chipping and breaking I put most of the pieces in storage and kept out my favorite pieces on display. Someday I'll have to look into that information.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen anything like this before. Is it very fragile?
ReplyDeleteAli, not incredibly fragile I use it when I entertain. Colorful foods really pop against the white. And I think it just oozes Christmas.
