July 7: Goofing with Mom

How can a person who doesn't have a little one in their lives ever truly understand how sweet their hugs are?

July 6: Proofreading

Businesses should really proofread their signs before hanging them. This sign has been hanging on a major highway for over a month. Personally, I don't feel confident in allowing them to handle my money. Would you?

July 5: Sunset

I took lots of sunset pictures and really can't settle on just one so here is another of my favorites.

July 4: Fireworks

I captured this image using a Canon SLR automatic digital camera...I didn't use anything fancy, just the standard point and shoot camera. I am quite proud of this shot. As I have tried unsuccessfully over the years using a camera with timed exposures and many other changes with no real success.

July 3: Camping for the Holiday

The temperatures soared over the 4th of July holiday weekend this year. Plus, the humidity was very high too. This made for a very upleasant day in the campground.

July 2: Water Fun!

The little guy LOVES water! I hope he will always have this elation for the simple things in life.

July 1: Cousins

My little guy and his cousin love hanging out together and doing boy stuff. They agreed to take this photo for Gran to have in her house. This will be a pleasant surprise for her.

June 30: Monthly Collage

June 29: A Lot of Bull

The title says it alll....

June 28: Flower Bed

So my favorite flowerbed in the spring looks very sad in the summer. I never got the annuals planted. The single impatiens that is growing is a volunteer from last year.

June 27: Summer Flowers

I love my butterfly garden. Through research and trial and error I have finally gotten a butterfly garden going that draws all sorts of butterflies throughout the growing season.

June 26: Butterfly Pea

One of my summer time favorite wild flowers. Generally only has one flower per plant. But they are invading my flowerbed where they receive water and fertilizer and they are growing multiple flowers per plant now. Wonderful!

June 25: Beauty Berry

I am looking forward to sharing this plant with you in its true glory this fall.

June 24: Another Pass Along Plant

My grandmother gave me a start of this tiger lilly when I was about six years old. Everytime I have moved at least a portion of the plant has been dug up and moved with me to my new home. My grandmother has passed away now but every time I see this plant I remember her love.

June 23: Teddy Bear Hug

The litle guy loves his teddy bear his great aunt made for him.

June 22: Future Olympian?

This young lady was concentrating on winning. Can you tell?

June 21: Best Buds

They were sharing their lunch with each other.....

June 20: Cat Relaxing

Boots seems to enjoy lying in the sun soaking up the rays....

June 19: Two Old Friends

An old friend came to town. I had not seen or heard from her since before I graduated high school. She and I went to the same church, the same school and lived about a mile apart. Needless to say we were pretty close. But life is funny and will throw curveballs in our paths. Fortunately, I have batted the curves pretty well. My friend unfortunatley, had to learn many things the hard way.

June 18:

And another birthday party. This spring it seems like we received invitations to a birthday party every month. Crazy.

June 17: Never Want to Share

Why is it little ones have this uncanny knack of finding the only one of a certain kind of toy and then not share with the others? And why do adults not just put it away?

June 16: ARKSTE

I was recognized at the HSTI as one of the Finalists for the "Making IT Happen Award." While I did not receive the top prize I feel honored to have been recognized at all.

June 15: Another Sign

Okay two things about this is too ridiculous for words.....the name of the funeral home....but a fire hydrant on the same corner....tweaked my funny bone but good this did.

June 14: Technology Conference I

We passed this sign on our way to the conference. I thought it was funny.

June 13: Pump It UP

Local place to hang out and play! giant slide.....

June 12:

How restful is this picture? I watched the horses and sheep graze for a long time this morning. The twitching of the tails was quite hypnotic.

June 11: Farmer's Market

I have been going to the Farmers' Market as much as I can lately. Yummy! Fresh Strawberries! Can't wait for WATERMELON!!!!

June 10: Silly Boy

I am starting to realize I didn't take as many pictures in June as I thought I did.

June 9: Silly Face

I think this picture says it all. Doesn't it?

June 8: Doe's

The food was definitely much better than the restaurants outside appearance.

June 7: Water Plants

These plants cover the ditches surrounding the rice fields. They have definitely found their niche.

June 6: Birds in Flight

Some sort of critter was running across the hayfield and scared up these birds. I don't know what type they are nor do I know what the critter is. But I am very pleased with this picture.

June 5: Visitors to the Rice Fields

Dragonfly hanging out...Thank the Lord for them, they devour mosquitoes.

June 4: Rice Up Close

Another picture of rice. This one is much closer up. I can't remember if it was using macro or not. But I like the reflections in the picture.

June 3: Rice Growing

Many of the fields surrounding my home town look like this one now.

June 2: Cutting the Cake

I am going to get caught up with this blog.....if it kills me .....and it just might. The little guy's class had a cookout celebration for the end of the year and I took his birthday cake. We sang and here we are about to enjoy alligator......
